Confirmation for entries in the 2010 Founders Cup closed as of June the 1st.  We are pleased to advise that the Mimico Moutaineers will preside over a 12 team tournament, vying for Canadian Jr B bragging rights, which includes the Founders Cup.  Lacrosse Fans across the GTA can take in 41 games over a 6 day period.  The Online Home of the Founders      

We are pleased to welcome you to the online home of the 2010 Founders Cup:  The Canadian Junior B Lacrosse Championships, taking place this summer in Toronto, Mimico, Ontario from August 16th to the 22nd.

The Mimico Mountaineers play host to Canada, as we anticipate  eight to ten teams participating in the tournament.

We are very proud so far of what our site has to offer.  As we get closer to tournament time, we will have rosters available of the participating teams, schedules, and most importantly, real-time scores will be reported on all games.

There will also be a daily upload of action photography, courtesy of Pellerins.  We want to ensure that lacrosse fans across Canada can access all available information regarding the tournament, in real time.

The 2010 Founders Cup, hosted by the Mimico Mountaineers will be held at the state-of-the-art MasterCard Centre for Hockey Excellence.  The tournament, scheduled to run from August 16th to the 22nd with anywhere from 8 to 10 teams participating, will be held in the main bowl with seating for 1500 spectators.

If a second venue is required ,Long Branch Arena will be used, as the regular home of the Mountaineers, Mimico Arena will undergo extensive renovations starting in July.

The Organizing Commitee of the 2010 Founders Cup ran a logo contest open to students and recent graduates of local high school and college art programs. We are very pleased to present the winning submission of the contest.

The winning submission came from Mr.Nico Huang. 

Nico Huang is a recent graduate of the OCAD, from the Graphic Design Program. Today, Nico is a freelance Graphic Designer, who would like to one day work in a large design or advertising studio.  However, his career goal is to get into apparel design, recently working with Roots Canada.

 We appreciate Nico's efforts, as he submitted multiple designs. Nico will be presented with a $500 bursery for his efforts and his logo design will be featured throughout the 2010 Founders Cup

The Mimico Mountaineers are very proud to announce that they have been given the honour and priviledge to host the 2010 Founders Cup - The Canadian Junior B Lacrosse Championships.   Mimico was awarded the right to present the bid at the Canadian Lacrosse Association Annual Conference this weekend in Calgary, Alberta,  after a successful presentation at the OLA Junior B Council meeting in March 2009.

Mr. Dave Vernon, Commissioner of the Ontario Junior B Lacrosse Council, represented Mimico and the Ontario Jr B League at this meeting.  Mr. Vernon called Sean O'Callaghan, Head Coach and General Manager earlier today to relay the good news.

Mimico previously hosted the Founders Cup in 1997, which was  an extremely successful and memorable event.   The Double Blue narrowly missed the finals, dropping a 7-6 overtime thriller to the eventual champions, the Six Nations Red Rebels.

The tentative dates for this tournament will be August 17th to the 22nd, 2010.  The popularity of this tournament has increased over the years, and we can anticipate participation from eight to twelve teams from across Canada.
